And on the Eighteenth Week...

We were finally submitted to court! Given that we were initially told that it would take one to six weeks to be submitted, the wait has been interminable. Horrible. Incredibly stressful. However, this afternoon it was finally confirmed that our children's cases have been submitted to the court. We now wait to be assigned a court date. Being assigned a date generally takes three to eight weeks, although that could change at any time and nobody really seems to understand how it works. Most families seem to be assigned court dates that are about six weeks in the future. This means that we are hoping that we might be able to travel for the first time to meet the kiddos sometime in January.

I think we're miles away from being guaranteed smooth sailing from this point out, but it feels like an incredible relief to know that there is finally some movement in our case. Many, many thanks go out to our family and friends who have listened to me whine, cry, and fret thus far. Your support has kept me from completely going over the edge.

I'm so glad to hear this Betsy. So, go glad. I know this wait is interminable. I can't even imagine. One less thing to worry about now.

Horray, you are finally getting some headway going in the right direction. Onward and upward from here on.
